"מופע לייזרים": פארסה במוקדמות המונדיאל

המצרים לא עלו למונדיאל פעם נוספת היום (שלישי) לאחר הפסד לסנגל בדו קרב פנדלים ביזארי במיוחד, בו כוונו לייזרים לעברם של שחקני מצרים מצד הקהל הסנגלי.

בהתאחדות לכדורגל המצרית זועמים על האירועים והגישו תלונה לפיפ"א, ולא רק על 'מופע הלייזרים'. "הנבחרת הייתה קרובן לגזענות לאורך כל המשחק, עם שלטים פוגעניים נגד השחקנים ובעיקר נגד מוחמד סלאח. הקהל השליך בקבוקים ואבנים כבר מהחימום, וגם אוטובוס הנבחרת נרגם באבנים".

המאמן קרלוס קיירוש הודיע שהוא מסיים את תפקידו כמאמן הנבחרת: "הגיע הזמן שלי לעזוב. החלום שלי היה להעפיל עם מצרים למונדיאל, אבל סנגל העפילה. לצערי אנחנו בצד המפסיד, אין הרבה מה לומר".

התקשורת המצרית גיבתה את הנבחרת: "שיחקתם כמו גברים, שדדו אתכם. אנחנו מחכים לכם ב-2026. אנחנו מודים לשחקנים על תמורתם, הפרעונים הגיעו לגמר והיו צריכים לנצח. נשדדנו", נכתב ב-Filagoal.
